Senior referee Former Pathanian Dilroy Fernando has received an invitation to be a Sideline Manager at the XIX Commonwealth Games Rugby Sevens which will be held in New Delhi, India on October 12 and 12.
Fernando said that he had received the invitation to be a sideline manager from the International Rugby Board.

"I believe I can gain a lot from the exposure and the experience I will gain by being involved with the Games. It’s an honour for the country that a Sri Lanka was chosen for this role," said Fernando.
Fernando said his responsibilities would include controlling the bench and the substitutions.
The last occasion Fernando was involved in a Commonwealth Games rugby event was when he ran touch at the 1998 edition of the Games.
