'' There's destiny that shapes our ends , Rouguhew them how we will ''
A 20 year old school boy who had Received erroneous treatment from the Colombo General hospital had passed away this afternoon. It is learnt, Nabeel Jalaludeen, a member of the Royal College 2009 1st XV rugby squad had to face the fatal death, as he had been misdiagnosed by the doctors at the General hospital in March 2010.
According to reliable sources, the young ruggerite was sent to the General hospital earlier in the month of March, after sustaining minor injuries as he had jumped over the iron fence at the SSC, during the Big match, to congratulate one of his fellow cricketers.
According to our reporter, Nabeel had been given Tetanus and had also been asked by the authorities to use several other drugs for 13 days, claiming he had had low percentage of vitamins in his body. However, the ‘drugs’ which were prescribed had also included certain heavy drugs which are used by stroke patients. As a result, the young school boy had experienced certain internal defects and his parents had then taken steps to admit their son to Durdans Hospital in Colombo. After examining Nabeel, the doctors at Durdans Hospital had immediately got him admitted at the Incentive Care Unit (ICU). A close relation of the school boy who remained anonymous confirmed, Nabeel had been receiving treatment at Durdans hospital for about one and a half months. The close relative also stated, Nabeel had been living thanks to a machine for the past couple of weeks as the doctors saw no progress in his situation.
As the doctors at Durdans hospital saw no improvement in Nabeel, they had decided to remove Nabeel from the machine today at 16:00 hours where Nabeel said goodbye to his family, friends and his ardent fans, forever !
