Isipathana recorded their first win of the Singer Under 20 Division 1A rugby tournament when they defeated S. Thomas' by 30 points to 24 after leading 30-12 at lemons.
Isipathana points came off two goals, two tries and two penalties as against two goals and two tries by S. Thomas'.
The Thomians put in a fine fight back in the second half as they succeeded in staving off the challenge put in by the Isipathanians and preventing them to make any score in the second half.
Isipathana's tries were scored by winger Umayanga Sooriyabandara, fly half Prasad Devinda, flanker Deshan Arachchige and scrum half Mohamed Rizwan wih the conversions and penalties being put over by full back Malik Jumad.
Prop forward Sajeewa Ahangama, centre Anuruddha Wilwara, skipper and No 8 Rajinda Gunasekera and hooker Anjula de Silva were the try scorers for the Thomians with fly half Trishan Wickramasinghe and full back Devin Jayasinghe doing the conversions.
