Having watched the entire saga unfold and having observed the many comments that have since spread, I find it appalling that we Royalists, or self professed "gentleman", have stooped down to the level of bringing in "class" and the " tri shaw" driver argument into this issue revolving around a match played by school boys.
I have seen many of those from the so called "elite" schools commenting, most of whom i personally know, friends, good human beings, bringing about this argument about class and how we ( the elite schools) should refrain from playing rugby with "dastardly institutions".

The local rugby scene was reeling in a state of shock and disbelief on Friday when the country’s leading rugby referee Living Legend Dilroy Fernando announced his retirement from the job that he had graced with honour and integrity and earned a reputation internationally as well.
An intense and a Drametic situation prevailed at the Royal- Isipathana school under-20 rugby match when the Principal of Royal College Mr . Upali Gunasekera ( Former Isipathana leganery Principle ) had to bring the match to an abrupt halt after twenty minutes of play in the second half when the scores were level 20-20 and awarded the Milroy Fernando Memorial Trophy to Isipathana.
