Kapila Team Manager For the 18th Time

Former Isipathana, Kandy Sports Club and Sri Lanka ruggerite Dilhan Kapila Silva, better known as Kapila will continue as the team manager of Kandy Sports Club. Kapila was educated at Isipathana College, where he represented the first fifteen rugby team in 1995, '96 and '97 as a second rower and flank forward, and straight from school he moved to CH and FC and played for them in 1997. The following year he joined CR and FC and played for two years – 1998/99. Then in 2000, when Kandy SC celebrated their 125th year, he joined the Nittawela club and played as a top class forward till 2008. He also represented the country both at 7's and 15's as a fine intelligent forward. From 2009 to-date he is the champion Kandy Sports Club team's rugby manager.


Menura Perera Helps Isipathana .

A fine spell of bowling (5 for 27) from Menura Perera helped Isipathana Vidyalaya to beat Prince of Wales College in their inter school under 17 division tournament match played at Moratuwa. Pathanians batting first made 196 runs with Leshan Amerasinghe and Kahliq Amath scoring 60 and an unbeaten 66 runs respectively. In reply Cambrians were bowled out for 84 runs and Sudeetha Angulugaha too claimed 3 for 26 runs.


S. Thomas’ Retaine Cup C’ship, Beating Isipathana 19-14

S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia led by their inspirational captain cum winger Navin Henakankanamge, retained the Singer Inter Schools Rugby Sevens title for the second year in a row when they beat last year runner-up Isipathana College by 19 points (2 Goal, 1 Try) To 14 (2 Goals) in the Cup championship final after leading 14-7 at half time. The tournament was worked off at the Race Course grounds in Colombo yesterday. Thevindu Dikwella Breaks School Record

Thevindu Damsara of Isipatana hammered a hurricane century in just 28 balls for his team to salvage some pride after conceding first innings points to Royal, Colombo in an Under-15 Division I tournament match played at Reid Avenue recently.Thevindu’s unbeaten 108 off just 32 balls powered Patana to 134 for one wicket in seven overs in the second innings.He scored 12 sixes and eight fours in his unbeaten knock.
